– 2 extra pages per chapter with self study exercises

Required prior knowledge
A guidance: how you can use our online materials to make sure you are prepared well for the level you booked.
Level 1 (from 0 to A1)
For level 1, you do not need specific knowledge; we really start from zero – but please pay attention, the learning speed is high (!)
If you can’t wait to learn Dutch… but also if you are a slow learner, then we’ll recommend to do at 10-20 (or more) lessons of our online course ‘1000 most common words in Dutch‘; (you can also download the ebook) and the first 15 lessons of online course #dutchgrammar-1 (part of the e-learning package).
What you will learn at this level:
– review page of block 1
Level 2 (from A1 to A2)
For level 2 – you need to have entry level A1. Did you score lower than A1 in our level determination test? Don’t panic. You can reach A1 with #dutchgrammar-1 from the e-learning package.
If you have lack of time, do #dutchgrammar lessons 1-30 + 46-50. This is absolutely required prior knowledge (!).
Do the test again afterwards to see if your level has improved.
Additionally:
– it is highly recommended to learn the words from course ‘1000 most common words in Dutch‘ (you can download the ebook here)
– if you have the time for it, watch the first 25 episodes of the ‘Heb je zin?’ soap opera (binge-watching takes approximately 2,5 hours)
Review page of the previous block:
– review page – block 1
What you will learn at this level:
– review page of block 2
Level 3 (from A2 to A2+)
For level 3 – this is for people with A2 level. How to be sure you have this level and the required knowledge? Did you score lower than A2 in our level determination test? Don’t panic. Check the course content of #dutchgrammar-1 + #dutchgrammar-2; and review the subjects you think are difficult. Do the test again afterwards to see if your level has improved.
Have a look at the review pages of the previous blocks:
– review page – block 1
– review page – block 2
What you will learn on this level:
– review page – block 3
Recommended if you have the time for it, watch the first season of the ‘Heb je zin?’ soap opera (binge-watching the entire season takes approximately 5 hours)
Level 4 (from A2+ to B1)
For level 4 – this is for people with a A2/B1 level. How to be sure you have this level and the required knowledge? Did you score A2/B1 or higher in our level determination test? Did you score 10-15 correct answers in the extra level test?
Then you’re on the right level!
What if you scored a little bit below the required level? Don’t panic. Check the course content of #dutchgrammar-1 + #dutchgrammar-2; and review the subjects you think are difficult. Do the test again afterwards to see if your level has improved.
What is you scored significantly below the required level? Contact Bart by phone – for an oral intake and to discuss the best level for you. The earlier you do this, the higher the chance that you can switch a different level (before that group is full)
Have a look at the review pages of the previous blocks:
– review page – block 1
– review page – block 2
– review page – block 3
Recommended if you have the time for it, watch season 1 of the ‘Heb je zin?’ soap opera and watch season 2 of the ‘Heb je zin?’ soap opera (binge-watching takes approximately 5 hours per season, 10 hours in total)
Level 5 (B1/B2 part 1)
You need to have level B1.
Level 6 (B1/B2 part 2)
You need to have level B1 and you need to have completed level 5.
You can’t do this course if you haven’t done level 5, because in level 6 we continue the themes / subjects / vocabulary that we learned in level 5.
